One teenager was furious that his father denied purchasing a smartphone for him. Later, he committed suicide. He thought that his father had deprived him of becoming smart. By possessing a smartphone, a person cannot become smart, instead, s/he needs the Fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9:10) Wisdom is needed even to handle smartphones.
Wisdom is readily available: People think Wi-Fi is available everywhere. But the Bible teaches that Wisdom is available for Free, everywhere. (Proverbs 1:20-21) Personified as a woman, wisdom invites sinners, simple, skeptics, scorners, smart, and stupid to repent and receive God. First, wisdom is available, and it cries aloud in the street. The wisdom, the Word of God, is available and accessible in all places and the digital world. Second, wisdom raises her voice in the markets, malls, and commercial centers. Third, even amid several noises, her voice is clear; it stands out. Competing voices of counterfeit wisdom, worldly wisdom, fake wisdom, myths, hypes, and fake narratives are in abundance. Fourth, the wisdom is heard in the public squares, in public discourses. In other words, there is no excuse.
Choose to be simple: How long will the simple choose to remain simple or a scorner, continuing his scorns? (Proverbs 1:22-23) Instead of receiving wisdom, these people reject wisdom according to their own plan and counsel. Ignorance of truth is no excuse, as God’s almighty power and divine attributes are evident in the creation. (Romans 1:23) Rejecting wisdom is rejecting God, and respecting wisdom is respecting God.
Deception, Desire, and Destruction: When people reject wisdom, they choose the bitter fruit of deception. (Proverbs 1:24-33) All worldly wisdom ends up in deception and death. Desire and greed overwhelm such people who reject wisdom. Without an eternal perspective, they settle for mundane, earthly, and worthless things. Their complacency destroys them as they refuse to listen to the voice of wisdom. Sadly, such people’s wisdom is not from above, heaven, but from the earth, which is unspiritual and demonic. (James 3:15)
