Lord Jesus Christ sent the seventy disciples in pairs to preach the Kingdom of God. They came back and gave excellent reports. Lord Jesus thanked His Father for hiding these things from the wise and prudent and revealing them to the little children. (Luke 10:21-22) Indeed, they had divine wisdom revealed by God. Paul also echoes a similar principle of the Lord choosing the fools according to the standards of the world, to shame the wise. (I Corinthians 1:27)
Sheep among wolves: Only little children would take the risk of going among wolves. The wise would have accessed the risk factor and not dared to go out. The little children’s love for the Lord is girded by faith that they are not afraid of fearsome opposition.
True message: The children would communicate the message as it was given to them. They will not exaggerate, edit, delete, or misinterpret the message. The gospel is simple, the wise of the world make it complicated or reject the gospel as simplistic.
Simple folks: The little children will joyfully reach the simple. The wise, prudent, and intelligent would ignore the common or ordinary people. The marginalized and the poor would be ignored as they consider themselves wise.
Name of Jesus: Like John the Baptist, these little children have the desire for Him to increase and for them to decrease. (John 3:30) As children they would glorify and exalt the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rejoice: When a person realizes, s/he is an instrument of righteousness in the hands of God, rejoices. (Romans 6:13) Yes, mortal beings are used to do eternally abiding works.
Available: Little children are available for the work of God. It is not about ability, the wise have plenty, but availability for the Work of God is important. In the world, there are many people with various abilities, capabilities, talents, gifts, and skills, but unless they are consecrated unto the Lord, they cannot be used by the Lord.
Obedient: Little children are spontaneous in obedience. Delayed obedience will be missed opportunities.
Am I similar to the babes used by God?
