Fruitful vine

God is like a gardener who carefully plants, prunes, provides manure and water to bring forth fruit. Fruitfulness is a mark of Christian life. Yet, fruitfulness is the result of remaining or abiding in Him. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) Without Him are Nothing.
1) No Life: Without Lord Jesus Christ there is no life – physical or spiritual. All things are created by Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16) All without Christ are spiritually blind and dead. (II Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:1) Those who believe in Him has eternal life. (John 3:16) This life is dynamic, bubbling, joyful and brings blessing to others. Vine plant rooted out is worthless. Not even fit to be used as a peg. It is just burnt.
2) No Love: Life without relationships, community and love is mere existence. Without love of the Lord, we are nothing. Bible declares that He first loved us. (I John 4:19) Indeed, Lord choose us and we did not choose Him. (John 15:16) Love of Lord Jesus Christ, transforms us, teaches us, equips us, encourages us, empowers us and gives us wisdom to accomplish great things for Him.
3) No Legacy: Without Lord Jesus Christ, our life does not have any meaning or purpose or legacy. Lord has chosen us for a purpose and has appointed us, so that we bring forth fruit, which remains. (John 15:16) There are many kinds of fruits: Fruit of Repentance, Fruit of Spirit, Fruit of lips, Fruit of winning souls…etc. Fruit gives joy to those who plant (vinedresser or gardener) and all those who taste. This fruit remains, means, the results are of eternal value. Fruits have seeds, that will reproduce. Disciples fruitfulness is for multiplication. Without Lord Jesus Christ there is no eternity or eternal legacy.
Am I fruitful vine like Joseph? (Genesis 49:22)
