Not Content Consumers
Many people today are consumers of social media. For many hours, they keep scrolling without purpose or meaning. Some get addicted to social media and have panic attacks when they are offline. Sadly, even Christians waste their precious time by being passive consumers. Instead, all Christians should become intentional and missional in using social media. God has called Christians to be Truth Proclaimers in the world, not consumers of fake narratives and stories of falsehood.
Content contributors As children of God, disciples are mandated to share the Good News. God equips each believer to do good using social media platforms. (II Timothy 3:15-17)
Content Creators Humans are created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:23) Creativity is a gift of God. In fact, God has called humans to work alongside him and become co-creators. Hence, Christians should be content creators on social media.
Content critics God has given humans the gift to think critically. Paul exhorts believers to test everything. (I Thessalonians 5:21) Berean disciples evaluated the world by applying Scriptural standards. (Acts 17:11) James encourages believers to seek wisdom, prudence and understanding. (James 1:5) A simple person believes everything, while a prudent person gives thought to his steps or decisions. (Proverbs 14:15)
Content communicators The Great Commission is Great Communication. Disciples are mandated to seek all methods of communication and technology to proclaim the gospel and make disciples. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Content with intent Christians need not waste time producing trivia or following trends or exalting traditions but declare the truth that transforms.
Content with mission The mission of Christians is to disciple the Digital World through the Bible.
Content for the glory of God: Believers are called to produce content on social media to bring glory to God. Whatever we do should be for the Glory of God. (I Corinthians 10:31)
Content collaborators Christians should be united by networking, sharing the common vision, and working unitedly for the Kingdom of God.
Content delivered consistently Many begin with enthusiasm but do not continue consistently and leave the battlefield, disillusioned and wounded.
