On social media, there is a torrent of video content, promoted by vested interests, who are paid to do that false and wicked propaganda. The Priests, in alliance with the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate, made sure the tomb where the Lord Jesus was buried was sealed, and security was provided 24/7. Nevertheless, the Lord rose from the dead, while the soldiers were shocked and even momentarily paralyzed. Instead of embracing the truth of the resurrection, the priest summoned the security personnel and gave them instructions. They obeyed the priests and spread false news that the Lord had not risen, but the disciples came by night and stole His body. (Matthew 28:11-15)
Provoked and instigated: The religious leaders of Judaism consulted the leadership. Then summoned the soldiers and told them to spread the false news: Jesus did not rise from the dead; his disciples stole the body. The priest put words in the mouths of the soldiers.
Protection for negligence: The priests influenced the Political leaders like the governor and the government officials, so that they would not take punitive action against the sleeping, as well as the lying soldiers.
Payment for wickedness: Religious leaders rewarded incompetence and paid for false news. The soldiers were not diligent in their work of doing their job, but diligently spread the fake news.
The Risen Lord: The Son of God, who rose from the dead, appeared to the disciples and said: All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me. Under that authority, the disciples were commissioned by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords to go to every nook and corner of His earth and preach to all people, making them disciples, baptizing them, and creating Kingdom communities everywhere. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Good news: While the unworthy soldiers spread the fake news, the disciples filled Jerusalem with the good news. (Acts 5:28) The Digital world is full of fake news spread by hired people. Will the Church counter it like the Apostles, filling the digital world with the Good News?
