Spiritual blindness and spiritual darkness are realities that many people fail to realize. Satan, through the serpent, promised Eve that their eyes would be opened when they ate the forbidden fruit, effectively blinding them. (Genesis 3:5; II Corinthians 4:4) All humans are sinners. Satan works intensively in them and through them.
Spirit of Antichrist
God sent His Son into the world to save humanity, and those who believe in Him shall not perish but have salvation. (John 3:16) However, some people believe that the Son of God did not come in the flesh. They deny the incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, who was born in Bethlehem, grew up in Nazareth, ministered in Galilee, Judea, and Samaria, was crucified at Golgotha outside Jerusalem, was buried, and rose again from the dead. Apostle John states that such people are under the influence of the spirit of Antichrist.
Spirit of disobedience
Paul reminds the believers in the city of Ephesus that they are delivered from the death sentence of sins and trespasses. He contrasts with others who are not in Christ, as people in whom the spirit of disobedience is active. (Ephesians 2:1-2) Hence, they could not obey the gospel demand and God’s commandments.
Spirit of stupor
The Nation of Israel rejected Christ. The reason is that they have the spirit of stupor or spiritual insensitivity, or the incapacity to perceive in faith. (Romans 11:8) Though they had the Law, Promises, Temple, Ten Commandments, and the covenant, they could not believe in the Messiah. The reason is that they had a spirit of stupor, which could not perceive or pursue the truth.
Spirit of fear
Some are gripped by the spirit of fear. Paul asserts that the believers are not given the spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7) The Lord has also delivered the believers from the fear of death, which is caused by the spirit of fear of Satan. (Hebrews 2:14-15)
Do I have the Spirit of Truth, which the worldly people cannot receive? (John 14:17)
