Retrieved daughter

When a girl is married, her father’s duty is over according to culture and traditions. If she has to experience violence in the husband’s home, she must adjust and survive, as it was her fate. In a short film, the father hears the distress, goes with the wedding band, and brings her home with dignity, with the message that a daughter is a daughter forever. (BBC 8 March 2026) How will the daughter be restored? The Lord Jesus Christ taught a parable of the Prodigal Son, the Legalistic Elder Son, and a Waiting Father. (Luke 15: 11-32) It teaches how great the heavenly Father is, who restores fallen humanity.
Realization: Unlike the girl, who was sent by her father, the younger prodigal son went on his own. The lessons he could not learn in peace and prosperity must be learned in distress, discomfort, and hunger. In his low estate, he realized how he had lost his status as a son; even the servants were better off than him.
Repentance: He repented of his foolishness, rebellion, and waywardness, and decided to go back to his father, seeking forgiveness and a job as a servant in the household.
Return: Repentance should be followed by right action. He journeyed back to his home. It must have been a long journey with a heavy mind and not knowing how his father would respond. There was a fear that he could be humiliated by his brother and even attacked by the others in his village.
Reconciliation: Nevertheless, his father was wiser than the villagers and the elder son. Something in his heart impressed him that his son would return. Anxiously, he was waiting for his return. When he saw him reluctantly approaching the home, the father took initiative to run, embracing him, kissing him and bringing him home.
Restoration: Before the son could utter his confessional statement, the father commanded the servants to clothe him, put on a ring, sandals, and arrange a feast for his son, for he was dead, but alive again.
Do I appreciate, receive, and am grateful for the Eternal Father’s love, grace and mercy?
