The Highway of Upright!

Many nations are proud of their highways, expressways that connect important cities. They run for hundreds of miles, and are wide enough to have 6 or 12 lanes of traffic. The bible teaches another highway: “The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; whoever guards his way preserves his life.” (Proverbs 16:7)
Narrow gate: Generally, highways have a toll gate. Those who pay the fees to use the road should pay for it. Lord Jesus Christ said: “I am the gate.” (John 10:9) Here, the toll charges are not money, but repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross of Calvary for our sins, was buried, and rose again. Those who pass through this gate are called righteous or upright.
Narrow way: There is a Broadway that ends in death, destruction and hell. Those who enter the narrow gate get into a narrow way that leads to life. (Matthew 7:13-14) Since there is more traffic to hell, the road is broad and becomes wider too, adding more sins and distractions from the truth. This way is described as true and living way created by the body of the Lord Jesus Christ, which means by His sacrifice.
No exits: Generally, highways have exits for people to go to different destinations. But this highway has only one destination. Hence, this highway does not have exits to do evil. They are sealed and blocked for the safety of those who travel on this Highway.
Guarded and guided: This Highway is guarded by angels, the Spirit of God and the Word of God. Those who travel on this highway would hear a voice guiding them, stating, ” This is the way, walk in it.” (Isaiah 30:21) The chances of going astray are less if a disciple is diligent in listening to the voice of the Lord.
Preserved life: There is no loss of life, by accidents, landslides or earthquakes. The uprights are preserved from falling and will reach the destination of heaven for sure.
