True servant of God

God chose the tribe of Levi and made a covenant with them. They were expected to serve the Lord with diligence. Prophet Malachi writes of God’s expectation from them and how they had fallen short of God’s requirements. (Malachi 2:6-8) All people of God are expected to be having these qualities. Sadly, there are performers on stage, entertainers, people pleasers, who declare peace, when the spiritual wounds need drastic surgery. (Jeremiah 6:14; 8:11)
True instruction: Lord Jesus Christ is the Truth; His Words are truth and those who worship Him should worship in spirit and in truth. Those who are apostles, missionaries, pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, and others are expected to be spokesperson of truth. Not even a trace of falsehood, should be found in their teaching.
Walk in Peace: People of God are called to be peacemakers and proclaim peace. The Lord instructed the disciples to pronounce Shalom in the houses they enter. If the people in that house are not worthy, the blessing will return. (Matthew 10:13)
Walk in uprightness: Those who bear the name of the Lord are expected to walk in the paths of righteousness, holiness, and truth. David prayed that God may lead him in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Guard knowledge: As shepherds of the flock, they should guard knowledge. Knowing God, His requirements, His Laws, His will, and His purpose is essential. These should be taught to all disciples. This treasury of knowledge should neither be concealed nor corrupted. This knowledge helps them to make the right decisions.
People seek wisdom: People receive wisdom through regular teaching. Hence, they have a responsibility to seek wisdom from priests. They also need rebuke when they go astray. Berean Jews were noble as they sought wisdom from the Scripture. (Acts 17:11)
Messenger of God: As messengers of God, leaders ought to give messages demanding repentance, warning against sin and false teaching, encouraging to do good, engaging in bringing justice, empowering to share the gospel, and providing eternal hope. Indeed, all believers are representing God in the world.
