What if we had chosen him?

There are hapless fans of celebrities and intellectuals. They chose to be fans or follow that personality.
1. Not known:
Will the celebrity know the individual? Not likely. God has loved us and chosen us means: He has called us out, by name and it is an invitation for a special relationship. (Isaiah 43:1; I Peter 2:9) Believer’s hairs are numbered, tears accounted for, and more precious than birds. (Luke 12:7, Psalms 56:8; Matthew 10:31)
2. Not connected:
The great personalities of the world could be beyond reach. It is a sort of distant relationship. Their personal phone numbers or other contact details are not easily available. They could be connected in the public domain as fans or followers. Disciples are children of the Living God, with privileges, rights, and responsibilities. (John 1:12)
3. No covenant:
There is not even a contract between a fan and a celebrity. Disciples are people of the New Covenant, which is sealed by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Luke 22:20)
4. No conversation:
Celebrities tend to communicate through public media. They are one-way communications. Loving Father speaks to each believer. As a sheep of the Good Shepherd, it is possible to hear his voice. (John 10:27) Lord listens to prayers, and the whole of humanity comes to him. (Psalms 65:2)
5. No care:
One cine actor fan was excited when a new movie was released, he celebrated that by dancing on a moving truck. Fell and was dead. Did anyone care for him or the bereaved family? Peter writes God cares for his disciples. (I Peter 5:7)
6. No comfort:
God always comforts his people. (II Corinthians 1:3) God is near to the brokenhearted. (Psalm 34:18) His love, wisdom, and protection are his children’s unfailing comfort.
7. No confidence:
These human heroes have feet of clay and will fail, and will not be able to even protect themselves. But Eternal God the Rock is the refuge of His people. (Deuteronomy 33:27)
God took the initiative to love us and chose us. (John 15:16)
Am I grateful for this Eternal choice?
