Women’s rights?

Many movements are championing the rights or equal rights of women. The United Nations (UN) and many nations have a policy for providing rights for women. However, the Bible teaches how women have rights granted by God.
Image: God created Adam and Eve, the first couple; they were created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27) Certain attributes and capabilities of God were gifted to them. There were certain privileges and responsibilities. The Privileges included eternal life. After the Fall, one would spend eternity in heaven or in hell.
Eve in the Garden of Eden: The first inhabitant of humanity was the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had freedom to go around the garden, but were forbidden to eat fruit from one tree that was in the midst. (Genesis 3:3) Perhaps, both went around together, sometimes each went at different times to observe in different directions.
Independent decision: Eve had freedom to speak with the Serpent, though she did not understand that she was speaking to Satan. She also took an independent decision to eat the fruit that was forbidden. (Genesis 3:6) God had given her the right to make her own choice as she was granted freewill, as Adam also was.
Accountable: Both Adam and Eve were accountable for eating the forbidden fruit. God confronted both of them individually and demanded an explanation for their action.
Opportunity to talk to God: God gave an opportunity to Eve, the first sinner, to speak and explain her part of the event. As God did not annihilate Adam, He did not annihilate Eve either. Because both were created in His image.
Seed of a woman: God promised that the redeemer, the Messiah, would be the seed of a woman. (Genesis 3:15) The Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38) His resurrection appearance was first to a woman, Mary Magdalene. (Mark 16:9; John 20:11-18)
Child of God: Like men, women also have been offered the right to receive the Lord as Saviour and become children of the living God. (John 1:12)
