Christian values

One politician wanted to get power by showing his Christian birth and affiliation. So, he campaigned on social media, attracting Christians. One lay leader with prophetical insights confronted him, asking him if he was really a Christian.
Truth: Christians believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6) As a politician, he believed there are many ways to salvation, and truth is relative, and life is in heaven for all humans.
Righteousness: God is righteous and takes pleasure in justice. The lay leader asked if the Christian politician believed in social justice, equality, fraternity, liberty, and human rights.
Power to serve: The Lord Jesus Christ taught that power is given to leaders to serve. (Matthew 20:38) It is not given from the Lord to unjustly rule over people, oppress, exploit, and suppress them. For this Christian politician, like others, power was for selfish aggrandisement of wealth and humiliating people.
Rights of people: God has created humans in His image and has granted them rights. Most governments wish to snatch the rights from the people. For example, the anti-conversion law is depriving humans of their God-given right to choose. Another law for young boys and girls to get consent from parents for marriage is to deprive youngsters of choice.
Kingdom of God: Politicians promise the kingdom of God as their goal, but they do not have the power, wisdom, and resources to make it possible. Hence, all their promises are false promises. Only when the Lordship of Jesus Christ is acknowledged is there a possibility of change.
Stewardship: The Parable of Talents teaches us stewardship. (Matthew 25:14-30) Political power is an awesome stewardship. Using God-given opportunities, resources, talents, gifts, and national resources for the development, welfare, and progress of all people, and not just a few elites.
Humility: Politicians like to have an aura of power around them. The lay leader confronted the aspiring Christian politicians for a lack of humility, but just power-mongering.
Honesty: Integrity, boldness, and incorruptibility in financial dealings are requirements for Christian politicians.
Do I know God’s requirements in my life, including politics?
