God’s work is always complete, finished, wholesome and perfect.
Wholesome peace: The Lord Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6) His death, burial, and resurrection reconcile repentant sinners with God by faith. Hence, a sinner could enjoy peace with God. (Romans 5:1) The peace that the Lord grants us is incomparable with what the world offers. The world could neither give nor take it away. (John 14:27)
Wholesome salvation: When the Lord Jesus Christ declared on the cross, “It is Finished.” The wholesome work of salvation for humanity was completed. (John 19:30) There are no more traditions, sacrifices, ceremonies, rituals, or offerings needed for a human to be saved.
Whole armour: All Christians are engaged in spiritual warfare. Satan, demons, sin, temptations, and Satan instigated people to all fight against Christians to abandon their faith. Put on the whole armour of God. (Ephesians 6:11) Paul advises all disciples to be equipped for warfare, wearing all the gadgets essential for this fight. Wearing only a few could be dangerous, and make the disciple ill-equipped to fight to win.
Whole Scripture: The Bible, the sixty-six books are God’s Word equipping believers to do all or every wholesome good work. (II Timothy 3:15-17) God’s Word is perfect. (Psalm 19:7)
Whole counsel: Pastors and leaders are called to teach, edify and equip people of God. Paul is a great model. He stated that he did not shrink from declaring the whole counsel of God. (Acts 20:27) In Ephesus, he worked as a tentmaker, preached during lunch break in the Hall of Tyrannus, and preached in homes after work.
Whole humanity: The gospel is for the whole of humanity. Angels announced to the shepherds that the saviour is born in Bethlehem, who has come as an incarnation to die for humans, rise again and ascend to heaven.
Whole world: God has commissioned His Church to preach the gospel to the whole world, which includes all citizens of all nations, all races, all classes, all clans, all castes, all languages, all generations. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Do I realise God, who is perfect, does all things in a wholesome way?
