In the world, good and great things happen when courageous individuals do what most people will not do. Pioneers are dynamic and alive with vision and passion that they swim upstream. They even risk their lives to achieve their goals. God uses people who rise to become pioneers, set trends, and models for other people.
Pioneer in prayer: Abraham was a pioneer in interceding for cities, wicked cities like Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis 18:22-33) Moses pleaded with God to forgive the wicked Children of Israel, or scribble or erase his name from the Book of Life. (Exodus 32:33) Samuel said to the Nation of Israel, if he does not pray for the Nation, he will sin against God. (I Samuel 12:23)
Pioneer in faith: Great people of God could accomplish great things by having faith in the Great God. William Carey was a cobbler who had a burden to reach India with the gospel. Though he could not find support from the church, he travelled to India with the encouragement of his friends. A person who had no opportunity to go to school could translate the New Testament into over 40 languages.
Pioneer in good deeds: Tabitha, alias Dorcas, was a believer in the city of Joppa. She used her skills and helped the poor and needy. “All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them.” (Acts 9:36) People of God are equipped and inspired by the Bible to do every good work. (II Timothy 3:15-17) The history has several pieces of evidence showing how Christians obeying God’s call went on to do good deeds. Doing such good deeds changed the community where they served and the nations.
Pioneer in missions: Paul had the desire to preach the gospel, where Christ’s name was not proclaimed. (Romans 15:20) He did not want to build on foundations built by others. Such pioneer missionaries took the gospel to the corners of the whole earth.
In which arena is God calling me to pioneer?
