Chanting or praises

God is not pleased with repetitive words, empty words, meaningless words, and words only from lips. (Matthew 6:7) By words and sacrifices, the people of God made Him weary or annoyed or irritated, as God does not get tired. Isaiah accused Israel and today His Church for being hard-hearted. (Isaiah 43:22-24)
Not called me: The Nation of Israel did not call Him from the depths of their hearts. That means the songs, sacrifices, and other ceremonies were done as routine or mechanical, without their heart involvement. Yes, prayers may not even touch the ceiling when it is just a chant, or words from lips without meaning or understanding. Isaiah not only spoke to Israel, but he also prophetically spoke to the Church.
Israel weary of God: The Lord accused the Nation of Israel that they were tired and weary of God. They did not joyfully, enthusiastically, and energetically serve the Lord. For them, God was a burden, his Law was a burden, sacrifices, priests, and prophets were all burdens on them. Those who do not know His love, invitation, concern, and care consider spiritual life as burdensome. Indeed, the Lord Jesus Christ invites people who are weary and burdened to come to Him and receive rest and teaching. (Matthew 11: 28)
Weary by incense: Instead of sacrifices being a sweet-smelling aroma for the Lord, it became weary or nausea causing a smell. (Leviticus 1:9) Noah’s sacrifice was a sweet-smelling offering to the Lord. (Genesis 8:21) The believers’ generous giving, in the city of Philippi, was a sweet fragrance unto the Lord.
Weary by sins and iniquities: Israel did not come to His presence with holiness in their heart and minds. Sins and iniquities were hindering their relationship with the Lord. Offerings and sacrifices without repentance do not please God; He repels such indecent spirituality. God sees the motivations of the believers as they come to His presence.
Pleasing praises: David states his praises, lifting his hands, prayers are incense, like that of an evening sacrifice. (Psalm 141:2)
Is my daily worship pleasing to the Lord?
