A computerized tomography (CT) scan, is a type of imaging that uses X-ray techniques to create cross-sectional images, also called slices, of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside the body. CT scan is used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical, surgical, or radiation treatment. The heart of a person is deceitful, desperately sick, wicked, and impossible to understand. But God weighs and judges according to the thoughts and deeds. (Jeremiah 17:9,10)
Word Scan: The Word of God is the CT scan for the soul. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
Worldview: When a person drives on the road, looks at the traffic light which is red, but looks around if a police officer is there or a CCTV is there. Then drives though he knows he should stop. The worldview is obedience to laws is not important, but avoiding punishment is the priority. God commanded Abraham to walk before Him. (Genesis 17:1)
Intention: People could be hypocritical. Their speech could be smooth like butter, but war is in their hearts. (Psalms 55:21) The Word of God exposes such intentions so that a believer can repent and lead a righteous life.
Attitude: Treating others as inferior is a bad attitude. Looking down on others because of caste, class, education, nationality, religion and other reasons is a sin. Peter like all other Jewish people, treated Gentiles as untouchables. Lord had to nudge him to love Gentiles by giving Him a vision while he was in the city of Joppa, directing him to go to the house of Cornelius in Caesarea. (Acts 10)
Legalistic spirituality: Like Pharisees who were so meticulous in giving tithes from herbs of the kitchen garden, preachers today only speak about tithes and baptism. As they neglected Justice, Mercy, and Faith, so do today’s believers.
Has every intention, thought, reason, and attitude of my heart scanned and found right?
